In the Roman Empire times and for numerous centuries the places of Kinswinford there were dense forests. When it went to king’s hands there were major changes in the whole kingdom. Just prior to the Norman Conquest after the year AD 1010 King Etherald sold his village to the Dean of Worcester. Conventionally this city was a major part of Stafford and it derives its name from Kingswinford and the name relates to the ford of the King’s Swine. The earlier rural community of Kingswinford was spread from Wordsley, Quarry Bank, Brierley Hill.
The people and the kingdom of Amblecote and Kingswinford together formed the rural district in the year 1894. Nothing more is renowned about Kingswinford until King John came to Staffordshire manor and after that King John gave away the city of Kingswinford to the Baron Dudley. At that point of the time and many years after very little portion of the land in the rural community was used to be cultivated and the greater portion of the land was used to be woods and jungles. The record books also shows and indicates towards the fact that by the year 1291 the coal was being mined in the area and till the sixteenth century there are lots of entries to show up that the mining of the coal pits and the ironstone was being done and sink.
However the rural part of the community was added to the city Kinver in the year 1935 and that became a very integral part of Seisdon in the year 1966 and from 1974 the part of South Staffordshire. At present the existing economic focus of the city is on education, housing business and the tourism for the commuters. Kingswinford is located at the western part of the West Midlands it has its borders on the rural area sidelining past the Severn River. Amblecote however was christened as a rural district in the year 1898 which left Kingswinford as one of the minority of single rural districts in the country.
This place was then added to the Brierly Hill which was a urban district in the year 1935 and later on went on to become an integral part of the County Borough of Dudley in the year 1966. At later stages it was added to the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the year 1974. At present the existing economic focus of the city is on education, housing business and the tourism for the commuters. Kingswinford is located at the western part of the West Midlands it has its borders on the rural area sidelining past the Severn River.
